《长津湖》也是第11届北京国际电影节开幕片，并于北影节期间举行全球首场公开放映。影片中震撼的战争场面、生动的人物刻画、令人泪目的感人时刻也获得了首批观众的如潮好评。
The highly-anticipated war film "The Battle at Lake Changjin" released on Sept. 30 in Chinese theaters, vying for the lucrative box office of the National Day holiday starting Oct. 1.

Collectively directed by Chen Kaige, Hark Tsui and Dante Lam, all big names in the Chinese film industry, the film features a star-studded cast led by renowned Chinese actor and film director Wu Jing and young actor Yi Yangqianxi.

It tells the story of CPV soldiers fighting bravely in freezing temperatures in a key campaign around Changjin Lake, also known as Chosin Reservoir, in the northern part of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in 1950. The battle was a turning point in the war, laying the foundation for the final armistice negotiations.The abrupt fall in temperature – the lowest down to around minus 40 degrees Celsius, a record in around half a century – made the battle tougher and more brutal for Chinese troops.

影片导演陈凯歌表示：“《长津湖》这部电影就是要告诉我们，战争从何而来，我们为何会胜利。”导演徐克称：“毛主席说的那句‘打得一拳开，免得百拳来’对我的触动非常大，我当时就决定，我的任务就是要把这句话的真实感拍出来让大家看到。”导演林超贤坦言自己在拍摄期间一直被各种情感震撼着：“拍这部电影的过程中一直对志愿军战士们怀着深深的敬意，希望大家看到这部电影的时候可以记得当年那些为了我们牺牲的战士们。”
影片总制片人于冬表示，《长津湖》毫无疑问是当下最需要的电影：“这部电影可以振奋2021年的电影市场，它所讲述的故事、故事中的每一个人，以及这部电影所传递的精神和信仰，都是这个时代最迫切需要的精神食粮。”
于冬表示，经过五年多的剧本打磨，两年多的细致筹备，用电影弘扬伟大的抗美援朝精神。
The film's producer Yu Dong said the movie is a tribute to the hundreds of thousands of Chinese soldiers who died in the war. Yu revealed it took them five years to revise and polish the script and two years to prepare for shooting the movie.
在推荐这部电影时，伍千里的扮演者吴京表示：“希望观众从电影院走出来，能更加珍惜今天的美好生活。”
饰演伍万里的易烊千玺则说：“希望大家可以铭记这段历史，能够更加了解今天的和平幸福有多么来之不易。”
除了激烈的战争场面，影片中长津湖部分刻画的环境也令人印象深刻：
严寒给志愿军官兵带来的困难，两军在装备补给等方面的差距，这一幕幕更让网友们破防，感叹抗美援朝的艰苦。
徐克表示：“作为导演，只有很多的感受才能拍出一部好电影，所以要亲身去体会战争跟寒冷，在困难的条件下去做这个事情。”
那么，历史上真实的长津湖战役是什么样子的？
零下30度，“原木在移动”
严寒，是大多数人对于长津湖最直观的感受。时间回到70多年前，尽管因恶劣天气和自然环境付出重大伤亡，入朝作战的志愿军官兵却创造了全歼美军一个建制团的辉煌战绩，在东西两线同时告捷，一举打破了以美国为首的“联合国军”试图在1950年圣诞节前发起“结束朝鲜战争总攻势”的狂妄计划，迫使当时世界上最为强悍的超级军事大国，经历了有史以来“路程最长的退却”。
Despite heavy casualties caused by the extreme weather conditions and the rough terrain, the CPV army wiped out an entire US regiment, and scored victories on both the east and west fronts, thwarting the Coalition plan of wrapping up the Korean War by the Christmas of 1950, and forcing the world's strongest military power into its longest retreat.

An American veteran John recounted an unforgettable scene he saw on the Korean battlefield.

It was a night in December 1950. John and his company were taking a rest in a small village in the east of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). He saw numerous soldiers of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV), cloaked only in white sheets in a night of minus 20 to 30 degrees, charging out of the surrounding woods, undeterred by heavy US artillery fire.

He saw them crossing a frozen river, whose sheets of ice were just blown up by artillery; but before long, their trousers were soaked and quickly frozen up. They visibly slowed down because they could not bend their legs. Their weapons were poor and they had no artillery cover. Their guns seemed to have frozen up too. They looked like stiff logs on the move. Some "logs" fell down halfway through, but more came to fill in. John recalled his barrel turned red, yet the "logs" kept moving. Shelling simply could not stop them.
据推断，约翰经历的，应是中国抗美援朝战争期间最酷烈、也彻底扭转战局的一场战役——长津湖战役。
长津湖是朝鲜北部最苦寒地区，是役期间更是遭遇50年未有之严寒，夜间最低温度可达零下40摄氏度。
Chosin Reservoir is the coldest place in the north of the DPRK. The battle was fought in the harshest winter conditions in 50 years, with the lowest night temperature plunged to minus 40 degrees.
当时，为了出其不意给以美军为首的“联合国军”迎头痛击，中国人民志愿军第9兵团紧急奉命入朝，身着单衣、解放鞋，在难以想像的极端艰难困苦之下，与武器装备世界一流、战功显赫的美军第10军在长津湖地区展开殊死对决。诸如“冰雕连”等和“原木”一样壮怀激烈的故事，在长津湖沿岸的阵地上并不鲜见。
As the war raged on, the Ninth Army of the CPV army was sent to the DPRK on an urgent mission to give the US-led Coalition a heavy blow. Wearing only canvas shoes and thin cotton uniforms, the CPV soldiers faced off against the most well-equipped, battle-hardened X Corp of the US in bitter fighting. The hardships they went through were beyond human imagination; stories like the "moving logs" and a whole company of soldiers frozen into "ice sculptures" in their battle posture were not rare to hear.
长津湖战役中，志愿军20军59师177团6连在零下30多摄氏度的极寒中坚守死鹰岭高地，结果穿着单衣的125名官兵全部冻死在阵地上。他们至死保持随时冲锋的姿态。这些永不后退的“冰雕”，在冰天雪地里立起一座座精神的丰碑。
在长津湖畔下碣隅里外围的1071高地东南小高岭，杨根思率领全排以“人在阵地在”的英雄气概，接连击退美军8次进攻。当投完手榴弹、射出最后一颗子弹，敌人第9次进攻开始了。危急关头，他抱起仅有的一包炸药，拉燃导火索，纵身冲向敌群，用鲜血阻断敌人撤退的道路。
也许美国老兵不会理解，为什么“原木”可以在冰天雪地间移动；但是我们却明白，“最可爱的人”在为了谁而战， “为什么战旗美如画，英雄的鲜血染红了它”。 他们用生命换来山河无恙；我们当铭刻不忘薪火相传！
