据《中国青年报》报道，近日，中国高校传媒联盟面向全国199所高校的大学生展开调查，调查结果显示，97.12%的学生认为自己有或偶尔有“拖延症”。就连吃晚饭这样日常的事，有人都能拖到晚上9点。
那么“拖延”的英语说法有哪些：
“拖延症”英文是procrastination ，“做事拖拉的人”则可以用procrastinator来表示；动词procrastinate意指“拖延”、“耽搁” 。

英文里除了procrastinate，还有哪些表达可以表示“拖延”“耽搁”呢？
1. Hold off
事情不抓紧做，“延迟”、“推迟”都可以用这个短语表示。
Let's hold off making a decision until next week.
我们延到下周再作決定吧。
2. Sit on (sth)
坐在某件事上，说明没有开始行动，意思是“拖延”，类似的表达还有sleep on，指的是“留着等第二天再说”。
Let's sit on the problem for a while and see if anything changes.
我们先等等吧，看看事情还有没有变化。
3. Take sth offline
让某件事下线，也就是稍后处理，一会儿再说的意思。
Hey guys, can you stop this argument now? It’s not relevant to the meeting. Take it offline.
各位，能不吵了吗？这事跟本次会议没有关系，会后再说吧。
4. Play it by ear
有些事拖着，也是说明心里并没有计划，这个短语表示“随机应变”“现场发挥”。
I’m not sure how many people are expected—we’ll just have to play it by ear.
我也不知道会有多少人。等人来了再说吧。
